About six years ago, Nigeria lost a pace setter, a progenitor of the Yoruba-rap movement, a hard-hitting lyricist, an incredible music star who gave people the belief that exceptional things could come out from the ghetto.

Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, fondly known as Dagrin, passed away in 2010 after a gruesome auto accident. His music which produced some unforgettable lyrics accompanied by his smooth almost effortless delivery endeared him to the hearts of many.

He blended three atypical languages English, Pidgin and Yoruba and immersed it in his music – making it appeal to almost everyone in the country.

Today,  we want to ‘wakaback’ to one of his his “Kondo”. The song was Produced By Sarz and it has this unforgettably addictive rhythm, even to those who do not understand the meaning of the lyrics.

Whenever you hear “Mummy mi o si Nile, Daddy mi o si Nile,  Egbon mi o si Nile, Emi nika mo wa Nile, Wa gba kondo, kondo, kondo…. Wa wo Commando, mando, mando” you can ‘ help but Sing along and bob  your head to the beat.

Take a trip down memory lane today as we remember this musical legend ….
